Hosted by The Tapia Center for Excellence and Equity at Rice University, the educational summer camps offer students an opportunity to live in a college dorm, work alongside Rice University STEM students, interact with renowned scientists, and participate in project-based, collaborative learning activities; all while working on skills development in communication and college preparation.
The camp is one week long (Sunday to Saturday) and is focused on math and physics, and the camp features a day trip to NASA’s Johnson Space Center as well a session where Rice University representatives will be available to answer questions.
Registration will be open by the end of February! The cost for a week-long camp parent-paid is $1,395 per attendee or $1195 for 5 or more students being registered by the School Districts/Private Organizations. Any questions or concerns, please email Leticia Velazquez (firstname.lastname@example.org).
If possible, our goal is to work with school districts/organizations for providing partial funding for students that cannot afford the full parent-paid amount. If you are interested for your son or daughter to attend the program, as we will limit the number of attendees, please email email@example.com as soon as possible.
The Tapia Center is designed to empower motivated, academically successful, underrepresented, students who are passionate about math and science. The programs open Rice University to emerging scholars deserving of academic opportunity.
