Current and incoming STEM graduate students are invited to apply to be an instructor for a four week-long STEM Summer Camp. Instructors will be mentored in teaching, get paid, and will gain valuable teaching/mentoring experience. We may be able to accommodate you if you need housing. Meals will be provided Sunday dinner - Friday lunch. The program will accept graduate students from any STEM discipline. Further information and details are below:
Hours: Approximately 50 hours per week from July 1 - August 2, 2019. Instructors are required to work for Staff Camp + weeks 1-4, but there is an option available to work Staff Camp + 2 weeks only.
Compensation: $3300 (wages) + $600 (food)
Curriculum: The curriculum consists of projects on topics ranging from math, physics, computer science, biology, and engineering. The curriculum also includes drills on oral and visual communication. You will be trained in the curriculum, which will be provided to you.
Audience: The camps are anticipated to have over 200 high school students and over 50 teachers undergoing professional development. Each classroom will have approximately 20 students and 1.5 instructors. Most student campers are from underrepresented groups in STEM.
